Hi, this is John, also know on the net as Cymro. Originally from Cardiff, the capital city of Wales, but now living in the coastal city of Swansea. Swansea, (Abertawe in Welsh) is situated near the spectacular Gower, on the south coast of Wales. Having had a checkered life, I have now enjoy a more settled existence since settling down in Swansea in 1990. Until then, I had lived in various places when I left Wales for England before settling for 9 years in the ancient city of York. After losing my business and five bedroom house, I moved back to my native South Wales. Since being here, I have worked for a charity helping homeless people. The charity was established in 1973 and I am proud to have been part of it for so long. Anyhow, knowing what it is like to be homeless, albeit, friends took me in. Nevertheless, having empathy towards other who were homeless, I felt I could help others who found themself homeless, for whatever reason. You can imagine my delight when I got a job with the charity within three weeks of arriving here. |

When I first started working for the Charity, it was in helping to run the hostel, and though I hated the shift work, I survived working there for over 5 years, before becoming a support worker. Still with the same Charity, I started helping those who had been homeless, but who now had a place of their own. The nature of this work is to give support to individuals, until such times they feel able to successfully hold a tenancy of their own. Along with this, I started appealing for blankets over the radio, which we could give to those living on the streets, during winter's cold nights. |

My
other interests are varied and vast and I seem always to be on the go. Apart from designing web pages, business cards and other graphic orientated items. I love writing stories and poetry, time permitting as well as drawing
and painting. You can see some of my work on this site. I also enjoy
photography and since buying a digital camera, have enjoyed creating
computer generated graphics. This is both useful for web design as well
as improving the look of my work's newsletters and other publications. Besides
this, I also enjoy the outdoors, the beach, walking along the rugged
cliffs and beautiful coast line of Gower especially with a good friend.
I also enjoy making friends on the net with sincere and genuine people.
